I’ve made it! With less than a month to spare I have hit my December 7 deadline and reached my $1,500 fundraising minimum.

I now qualify to run the LA Marathon in March 2008.

Thank you all for your love and support.

The snot-making factory

Dear…

Nice term, isn’t it? Clearly a) I’m sick and b) I’ve gone through my weight in snotty tissues – and that’s a lot of tissues. Ask Kleenex employees. They’ve all received bonuses because of the sudden surge in sales…

A short story

A funny thing happened to me the other day. I was shopping in my local Trader Joe’s one evening after work. It had been a long day and the last thing I wanted to do was traipse around a supermarket buying healthy food pretending that I was going to cook for myself.

About author

Marissa Danielle Charles, 32, gorgeous reporter, wacky, funny, smart, single. I'm British, but I live in Los Angeles 5ft 8, Pisces, share my birthday with Drew Barrymore. (We're twins except that I'm chocolate, she's vanilla and a year older than me!) Lurrrve music – everything from reggae to country, Elvis to Baron. Mum is from Trinidad and Tobago so I'm half Trini. Catholic in my heart but I haven't been to church in ages... But somehow Miss Marissa has faith that she can complete the LA Marathon on March 2, 2008. Please note, I have never run a marathon in my life. I haven't even done half of one. Strike that. I haven't done half of a half of one! Yet I believe that I will a) be able to run 26.2 miles by the first week of March 2008 and b) raise $1,500 by December 7, 2007, in the process. Like I said: 'Mad as a hatter!' M x
